As the saying goes: Dogs are men's best friends and diamonds are women's best friends... For me, I think i love high heels more :)
I LOVE high heels ALOT!!! When i was younger (teenager), i went shopping with high heels on...YES, u may think im mad for torturing my legs and straining my muscles... but i really love them that i rather let my legs suffer... and well, now... they're really suffering...
Actually, i really had got no idea how i injured my left leg... hmm, i guess it's all due to several events that accumulated till today's outcome... :( Firstly, i fell down twice right on my knees... although i went to my family doc and he assured that my bones are not affected, but i can feel there was something different about my knee joints... it can be painful if i stand too long or walked long distances... my left knee wasn't like this in the past... and i doubt im that OLD to experience osteoporosis or something? Anyway, i didn't really took care of myself and strained my injuries further due to my work... coz i didn't notify my colleagues about my injuries and so they asked me helped out with this and that around the office and so... what u expect? My knees didn't get the necessary rest they needed... Secondly, once i wore high heels and was in a hurry... so i walked super fast... and i think i accidentally sprained my left leg while walking but as it was just a fast and slight sprain, i thought nothing of it... GUESS WHAT??? i woke up two days later with a swollen left foot (like a pig trotter)... I thought it was 'jiu bing fu fa' so i self-medicated myself with the medicine that my family doc gave me during my last fall incident... the pain ceased for a day but came back the following day and yet my 'swollen' trotter was still there and i went to work as usual... the only difference was that i was walking way too awkwardly and slowly. It was only after 1 week plus that i decided to go visit a sinseh to do acupuncture... i went twice and laid down there on a bed with about 10-15 fine needles poked onto my 'points' so as to allow blood circulation and to swell the blood clot on my foot... the sinseh even used a hammer to knock on my foot as she said this is to 'dispel' the hard blood clots so as to make it 'softer' and easier to recover... it's amazing right?
I thought the worst was over... i was hoping to wear heels again... but sadly, when i tried on my heels and went shopping, my left knee joints started aching again just only after walking for about 1 hour... and there was this slight pain that i experienced while i had my 'trotter' last time... so i guess this is the end :( I can't wear high heels anymore... perhaps even if i really crave to wear, it can only be worn awhile? But for the sake of my legs... i HAVE TO STOP wearing... *SOBS*
I know there are many girls out there who are mad over high heels... just like a newspaper article written by Sumiko (forgotten her name) on Sunday's TIMES... i am sure many ladies out there will find it hard and painful to give up on their heels coz heels can make such wonder out of a woman's appearance...
Lessons learnt? Don't self-medicate yourself, always see doc ASAP when u need to... sigh...
